ACI Philippines at the ACI World Congress Jakarta 2016
ACI Philippines (ACI Phils) recently participated in the 55 th ACI 2016 World Congress held in Jakarta, Indonesia, represented by Atty. Arlene Joan T. Agustin, its current president. With the theme “Value in Diversity,” the annual event organized by the Association Cambiste Internationale (ACI) was hosted by ACI Indonesia. ACI 2016 World Congress is considered the most prestigious financial event in the region and discussed the latest financial market trends and challenges in an ever changing market environment.
The event was attended by 49 countries and over to 9,500 ACI members that include Bankers, Consultants, Brokers, Dealers, Service Providers, Investment Bankers, Asset Managers, Hedge Fund Managers, Regulators, and Treasurers, among others.
ACI Financial Markets Association (ACI FMA) is a global non-profit association of wholesale financial market participants with over 13,000 members from more than 60 countries. Established in 1955, the association continues to take a leading position in ethical practices and education, and offers E-Learning, Attestation and Certification (ELAC) to the industry as a unified professional solution.
In the Philippines, ACI Phils. has a strong base of 598 members (as of 2015) from the country’s leading banks. It is one of the most significant organizations in the banking industry that hosts a variety of events for its members to actively contribute to the development of the Philippine financial markets, the adoption of global best practices and continuing education of its members.
The 2016 Officers of ACI Phils. are: Atty Arlene Agustin – President (Maybank), Orencio Andre Ibarra III – Vice President (Security Bank), Anthony Paul Yap – Treasurer (Metrobank), Dino Ruyardo Gasmen – Secretary (BPI), Eduardo Garcia – Director (Eastwest Bank), Ernesto Borlado – Director (BDO), Alvin Antonio – Director (RCBC), Carel Halog – Director (Landbank),Enrique Chiguez Cayanga – Director (AFS Philippines), Philip Recto – Director (ICAP), and Rafael Ramon Ramos – Director (Chinabank).
Days before the much talked about convention on the private island of Balesin, there were whispers of skepticism about how this convention would offer new surprises and would be different from previous conventions.
I wish to apologze for not being there with you today… To coco, and the aci board, I know you had gone to great lengths to make sure the convention would run smoothly
I’m sure all of us have dreams. Whether it be a simple dream of a career/profession, a dream home, a dream car, or a complex one like a future for your family and for yourself, these are all important things to aim for. But for students like me, dreams start with our dream schools.
